Job Description

Direct General Insurance,, is currently looking for a District Sales Trainer for our growing needs based out of Birmingham, AL.  The ideal candidate will have a previous background in doing training sessions for small to large-sized groups within the insurance industry.  The ideal candidate needs to be open to travel throughout the southeast to conduct training sessions.

Primary Purpose:

Primarily responsible for developing and conducting on-site training sessions for a specific, large, agency group in multiple locations throughout the southeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Work in connection with Agency Leadership, and individual Agents, with in assigned territory to identify and design new and ongoing training needs
  • Responsible for identifying new product needs and opportunities within Agency groups and utilizing discretion and independent judgment to move the process forward
  • Spend majority of the time in the field visiting Agencies, completing training, and building relationships
  • Without guidance, determine Agency needs, create training schedules, identify areas of improvement, and execute on improving overall Agency and Independent Agent production
  • Accountable for maintaining and growing a relationship between NatGen Insurance and the Leadership of the agency group within assigned territory
  • Responsible for educating, promoting,  and delivering the NatGen Insurance Brand

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of Property and Casualty insurance industry experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • High level of commitment to personally get things done, assuming personal responsibility for achieving expected results
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple task promptly and professionally with minimal supervision
  • Utilize creative problem solving skills to effectively resolve customer issues

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual: Spanish and English
  • Positive Attitude even when faced with obstacles, frustrations, or changes
  • Presentation Skills
